Our
Vision
-
Domestic
Violence
Shelter
New
Life
Center
of
Hope
National
Shelter
for
Domestic
Violence
Victims
and
Their
Children
An
estimated
1.3
million
women
are
victims
of
physical
assault
by
an
intimate
partner
each
year.
(statistic
from
the
Centers
for
Disease
Control
and
Prevention)
The
vision
that
the
Lord
has
given
us
is
to
have
a
domestic
violence
shelter
that
will
house
300
women
and
their
children.
The
apartment-style
rooms
will
be
vital
in
helping
the
women
and
their
children
stay
together,
unlike
other
shelters
where
there
is
not
room
for
the
women
and
children
to
stay
together.
While
working
with
the
police,
we
will
help
the
women
escape
their
abusive
situation.
Our
residents
can
stay
up
to a
year
or
more.
We
want
to
eliminate
any
possible
reason
why
a
resident
might
want
to
return
to
their
abuser.
The
goal
is
to
help
them
be
self-sufficient
and
provide
for
their
children.
We
will
help
them
get
a
job,
go
to
college
(if
they
wish),
and
get
an
apartment.
